The Only SOL Circuit Breaker Strategy You’ll Ever Need

I’ve had several community members mention that we need a circuit breaker (CB) for SOL, especially if the bull market returns soon.
I completely agree.
I’ll be the first to admit that I made a mistake by assuming SOL would reach a local top around the same time as BTC.
Based on that assumption, I intended to use a BTC CB as a CB for SOL.
If you’re wondering what a CB is, it is essentially a “get the f*** out of our position” trigger. So, if the CB trigger activates, we sell our bags.
Why was it a bad idea to use a BTC CB for a SOL exit?
Well, our CB for BTC triggered on 25 January 2025 at a price of $90K BTC and ~-20% from the all-time high (ATH)👇🏼
By that point, SOL was already down >50% and almost every other altcoin was absolutely slaughtered by then👇🏼
Because strategy is fundamental to my framework, even though I wasn't prepared to sell SOL when it was down 51%, I still proactively managed downside volatility. More importantly, I successfully sold 60% of my SOL holdings, along with 20% each of my BTC and ETH positions, close to the market top - amounting to ~62% of my entire crypto portfolio.

I give myself a grade of ‘B-’ for how that played out, given my maximum portfolio drawdown was -28 %
while
➡️ BTC was down -31%
➡️ ETH was down -66%
➡️ SOL was down -68%

➡️ more folks selling more sh**coins near the top or at least not holding their bags through a -80%+ drawdown
➡️to score myself an A
That means we should get out of all SPOT sh**coin positions (including SOL) and not become community members….
To do that for SOL, we need
➡️ a TP strategy
➡️ a SOL-specific CB
